Imagem-máquina. A era das tecnologias do virtual.
Editora 34, 1993.
This collection is not a summation. It aims at recording the emergence of issues and thoughts on the new imaging technologies which highlight our current times, at an artistic and scientific level. The variety of viewpoints, at times antagonistic, in the reading of this compilation of essays – written by philosphers, physicists, mathematicians, semiologists, plastic artists, videomakers, in short, theorists and specialists in multiple disciplines, some of these in the process of birth, like infography – is enlightening: it takes us, doubtlessly to a transdisciplinary understanding of the power of image in the model- setting of the world and of the contemporary subject, in an indissolubly ontological and practical dimension.
